Department of education and monitoring of quality
In the 2017-2018 academic year, the changes were made in the structure of the Tajik Agrarian University named after Sh. Shotemur. These changes were brought into the Charter of the Tajik Agrarian University. Sh. Shotemur and the named Charter was approved by the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan No. 376. of 01st August, 2018,
From the beginning of functioning (January 2018) of the Department of Study and Monitoring of Quality its Head was appointed Doctor of biological Sciences, Professor M.I. Ismoilov.
The structure of this department consists of the educational and methodological department, the department for the exchange of experience and work with young specialists (Head of the Department Sagdieva G.M.), the department of professional guidance and pre-university training, information and analytical sector (Head of the sector Pirov D.) , the sector of quality management and monitoring of education (Head of the section Jabborov T.J.), the accounting and consultation center (director Shakarov N.J.).
The function of the Department of study and monitoring of quality includes planning of the educational process, organization, monitoring, coordination of educational activities and control of quality of education.
The activity of this department is conducted in accordance with the regulatory legal acts of the country in the field of higher professional education, which are reflected in the content of the quality of the educational process.
The educational process of full-time education consists of: undergraduate (4 years), for integrated specialties 5 years, specialists (five years), magistracy (2 years) and doctoral studies (3 years), on the credit system of education. In correspondence form, students are trained: in the traditional way, as specialists (4-6 years), 3rd year according to the credit system and 1-2 years are taught by distance learning.
The activities of the department and its substructures are aimed at planning, organizing, monitoring, coordinating training activities, monitoring the quality of education, in accordance with the requirements of the State Standard of Higher Vocational Education of the Republic of Tajikistan by the specialties of the university.
The main tasks of the department of study are: identify key areas for improving efficiency of the learning; development of the specification of the names of specialties; curriculum design development; scheduling classes; preparation of reports on the results of tests and examinations during the session and final certification processes; the development of recommendations for finding new teaching methods, improving the quality of education and the step-by-step implementation of the system of credit and distance learning, the cooperation of specialized departments and faculties for conducting educational practice, production and pre-diploma practices, in accordance with the specialty.
The Scientific and Methodological Council, whose members are experienced professors and teachers and young active specialists, together with the Department of Study regularly conducts discussions and searches for ways to improve the quality of the educational process and introduce new teaching methods into the educational process. Training programs (syllabuses), textbooks and guidelines are published after the recommendation and approval of training materials at a meeting of the Scientific and Methodological Council. In recent years, within the framework of the work of the Scientific and Methodological Council and the requirements of the newly approved Regulation the Minimum Content Requirements of the State Educational Standard of Higher Vocational Education of the Republic of Tajikistan for Demanded University Specialties, full-time study programs, correspondence form, distance learning, second education, undergraduate curriculum curricula for specialists, magistracy, PhD by specialty have been developed several times and were approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The Department of Study in 2018-2019, together with 49 departments that conduct research and teaching activities and have 416 teachers, including 6 academics, 7 corresponding members of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Republic of Tajikistan (AAS RT), 46 doctors of science, 57 professors, 142 candidates of sciences, organizes and supervises the process of conducting the training sessions (lectures, practice, laboratory and JTSW), training and production and pre-diploma practices.
According to the Certificate of AU #0002271 (# 2875 of 05.05.2017) the University received the right to use in its educational activities 46 bachelor specialties (3 new specialties 1-74060302-safety of the technological and production process; 1-74020306prevention and protection from pests; 1 -74020101-pasture creation), 35 specialties in magistracy (2 new 74020101pasture creation and 1-75010101arboriculture and silviculture), 27 specialties in PhD by specialty and 13 doctoral specialties. All works on the educational process are laid on the Department of Study.
The university opened the way for students to study any specialty in the credit system taking into account the material and technical base and national education according to the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan # 254 of April 29th 2009 "On Approval of the State Program for the Development of Education of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2010-2015", and the Order of the Minister of Education of the Republic of Tajikistan #923 of July 4th, 2007 “Transition of all higher professional institutions into the world education system ” in 2011-2012 academic year. Currently, all full-time courses and 3rd -year students of correspondence form are fully studying in accordance with the credit system of education, while first-year students of correspondence form are trained in distance form, and the implementation of this process is directly related to the Department of Study.
Annually, the training courses are organized for university teachers in various directions: implementation of the credit system, regulations and rules of distance education, mastering information technologies, using an electronic board in classes, additions and changes in the grammar of the Tajik language, improving knowledge of Russian and English, streamlining office work of departments, knowledge of legal regulations, etc.
We are convinced that these training courses will have a positive influence to the implementation of the credit system of education, distance learning, improving the quality of teaching and the level of students' knowledge.
University education in full-time and correspondence departments are conducted in Russian and Tajik languages. Due to the increased need to increase highly qualified agricultural specialists and government orders, the number of students of the university has increased, the new specialties have been opened in accordance with the requirements of a market economy. The number of students of TAU in the 2018-2019 academic year increased to 9311 students, of which 7156 are full-time students (6976 bachelor's degree, 141-masters; 39 doctor of PhD) and 2155 are correspondence students.
The Department of study together with the administration of the faculties of the university prepares curricula and programs for all specialties for all types of education.
The study process of full-time students is conducted based on three curricula: curricula of fourthyear and fifth-year students, where one credit consists of 16 hours and a new curriculum, for 1st-year students, curricula of 2nd and 3rd year students of full-time courses. In addition, the correspondence students are trained based on 3 curricula: 1-2 years by means of distance, 3 year by credit system of education, in which one credit consists of 24; 4-6 year students – by traditional method. Currently, studies in the master's and doctoral studies are based on one curriculum, according to the credit system of education.
